Christina Ung - Illustrator

TCAF 2009!

This year’s event will take place at the Toronto Reference Library on Saturday May 9 & Sunday May 10. Highlighted guest at this year’s event include Scott McCloud (Understanding Comics), Bryan Lee O’Malley (Scott Pilgrim), Jillian and Mariko Tamaki (Skim) and Adrian Tomine (Optic Nerve, Shortcomings)
The Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) celebrates the best in independent comics and sequential art. TCAF showcases a diverse range of comic artists to cater to a large audience of readers and potential readers of different taste.

Yulia Brodskaya - Paper + Illustrations

Yulia Brodskaya is a Russian born illustrator/designer. She fuses illustration and her love of typography together with a mixture of experimentation to produce her work. Her paper illustrations are especially colorful and unique.

Comic Tools

Cartooning is a skill that requires practice and persistence. As an aspiring cartoonist myself, I find it helpful picking up a few books at the library, trying out different art materials at the art store, practicing my drawing skills, and simple being open-minded.
Here is a blog I find find very useful for those who’d like to dabble in the world of cartooning or illustration. The blog features covers a diverse range of topics, including tools and materials, how to use them, tips and techniques.
